February, 2022

Founded in Melbourne, Australia by Aron Williams.

November, 2022

Release of the Reversible Vest, MERTRA’s first breakout product.

2023

February, 2023

First-ever pop-up in MERTRA's home city, Melbourne, to celebrate its first birthday.

July, 2023

Release of the Yeti Fleece. Quickly became MERTRA’s most sought-after piece, and its first product to gain significant international attention.

October, 2023

Release of the Ninja Fleece and Sling bag. A defining era that significantly expanded MERTRA’s global reach further.

November, 2023

Benchwarmers collection. Shot at AAMI Park Stadium.

2024

February, 2024

MERTRA’s first overseas shoot. Shot in London, a city which would become a key part of the brand's global expansion.

September, 2024

MERTRA hosted its first international event in the streets of London. The same month saw the launch of their UK warehouse, and the debut of the iconic Bigstep Tracksuit.

November, 2024

MERTRA’s biggest release to date at the time, shot at Mont Blanc, Switzerland. The collection introduced two of MERTRA’s most known products: the Heat Reactive Puffer and Water Reactive Shell.

2025

April, 2025

MERTRA x Nike x Foot Locker. An Air Max Day event held in Melbourne to celebrate MERTRA’s hometown and the journey of the brand to date.

June, 2025

Announcement of MERTRA’s new logo, designed in collaboration with Peter Yee. The launch was supported by a campaign filmed across three countries over a six-month period, alongside the release of a book documenting the research, development and decision-making behind the rebrand. One of the most significant milestones in the brand’s history.

September, 2025

The opening of the brand’s third warehouse, this time in Europe.

October, 2025

MERTRA x Umbro. MERTRA’s first official collaboration. A brand less than four years old partnered with one that has been shaping sport and culture for over 100 years, to present a 17 piece collection.

November, 2025

One of MERTRA’s most ambitious releases to date. Supported by campaigns filmed across Southern Italy and inside a cave 70 metres underground, the collection marked the introduction of the Glow in the Dark Jacket and Transforma Bag, alongside the return of the Heat Reactive Puffer in two new colourways.

2026

January, 2026

MERTRA x Slawn. A collaboration with artist Olaolu Slawn, launched through a London pop-up featuring one-of-one jackets hand-painted by Slawn. The collaboration was later released globally through a campaign photographed on Lil Yachty in Atlanta, Georgia.

February, 2026

Opening of the MERTRA China office, bringing supply chain operations, sample development and manufacturing closer to the brand than ever before. A major investment in strengthening product development capabilities and supporting MERTRA’s long-term growth.

March-May 2026

Captured the March collection on the wing of an airplane, followed by the continued rollout of SS26 through campaigns headlined by Mia Khalifa and Giovanna Ramos.

May, 2026

MERTRA’s first eyewear release, co-designed by renowned designer Peter Yee and founder Aron Williams.

June, 2026

Continuing SS26, MERTRA celebrated its Australian roots through a new collection that included the Down Unda Tracksuit. The campaign was photographed on Australian international footballer Alessandro Circati, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
